On September 29, 2018, Bethel kicked off its 200th Anniversary with a Black Tie/Red Carpet Anniversary Celebration and a year’s worth of activities, forums, master classes and concerts to celebrate 200 years of Christian witness as the oldest African- American church in the City of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Bethel is a church where we celebrate our hope in a living and loving God; where we vigorously pursue the healing of our whole selves - mind, body, and soul - through the grace of Jesus Christ and the healing community he founded, called church; and where we boldly claim the power of God's Spirit to transform our lives, our families, our communities, and our world for the better.
